maybe this shadow exercise really is a dark excursion when i should be pursuing light, but i have found that the images spark memories and stories as well as most “normal” snapshots …. and, they force one to pause at times, and, wonder….
which is a wonderful thing….
wonder about the physics of it all, light, the bouncing of light back to us is what we are seeing…. while at the same time, an air of mystery is always there in the shadow, shadows have intrigued scientist, children, poets, musicians and artist for centuries.
to truly see light, we have to have the shadow - it gives us the detail in art, and life. most people think that shadows follow, precede or surround beings or objects. The truth is that they also surround words, ideas, desires, dreams, impulses and memories. as they add detail to a photograph or a painting, they add perspective to our lives.
appreciate your help in my little exercise here….

Quit searching for the shadow or dark side of everything and everyone and yourself. You were much better when you were creating the light that shined on others.
